Introduction

Kalki bhagwaan is the final avatar of Vishnu who is yet to come. Kalki bhagwaan is also known as Kalkin and is believed to be the incarnation of Vishnu that will appear at the end of Kali Yuga to end the age of darkness and destruction.
As written in many scriptures Bhgwaan Kalki will born in Kalyuga. But what is kalyuga? If this is Kalyuga then when and where will he born? To answer these questions let's discuss about the concept of Yuga

Yuga

The Yuga cycle is a cyclical time period in Hinduism. Each Yuga is associated with a particular stage of development in the universe. There are four Yugas: Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga.

The Satya Yuga is the first of the four Yugas. It is a time of righteousness and peace. The people in this Yuga are moral and ethical. They live in harmony with nature.

The Treta Yuga is the second of the four Yugas. It is a time of prosperity and abundance. The people in this Yuga are intelligent and prosperous. They are able to produce great works of art and literature.

The Dvapara Yuga is the third of the four Yugas. It is a time of chaos and confusion. The people in this Yuga are greedy and corrupt. They are unable to maintain order or stability.

The Kal Yuga (kaliyug) is the last fourth Yuga. It is a time of complete darkness. The people in this Yuga will become very corrupt that there will be chaos all over the world.

Kalki Jayanti : Birth date of Bhgwaan Kalki

It is mentioned in the scriptures that this incarnation is sure to happen on the sixth day of Shukla Paksha of Shravan month, so this auspicious date is celebrated as a festival on Kalki Jayanti.

According to the authentic description about Kaliyuga, the age of Kaliyuga is 4,32,000 years, out of which 5,125 years have passed (as of 2nd April 2022). Therefore, there is still a lot of age left for Kaliyuga. At present (from date 3rd April 2022) Kaliyuga Samvat 5126 is going on. On the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, with the new Vikram Samvatsar, the new Kaliyuga Samvatsar (year) begins.

Purpose of Kalki bhgwaan

In the fourth charan(phase) of kalyuga, the form of severe Kali Yuga will be seen. Everyone will be seen behaving like an animal and will be destroyed by renouncing religion. Dharma-karma will also disappear because of secrecy.

And when the limit of sin will be crossed, Kalki avatar will appear to destroy the wicked in the world. Kalki Avatar will be for the end of Kali Yuga. Mounted on a horse named Devadatta, he will destroy the wicked with his karal karwal (sword) and only then will the golden age(satyuga) begin.

Birth place of Bhgwaan Kalki

This incarnation of God will also be known by the name of "Nishklank Bhagwan". The stories of Vishnu's incarnations are described in detail in the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran. In the second chapter of its twelfth skandha, the story of Kalki incarnation of Lord is given in detail in which it is said that "Kalki will be born in Sambhal village as the son of a superior Brahmin named Vishnuyash in his house and at a very young age will become a great scholar by reciting the Vedas. Later they will be free from the sufferings of the living beings and will get astravidya by worshiping Mahadev, who will be married to Padmadevi, the daughter of Brihadratha."

Sambhal

As written we know that Sambhal will be birth place of Bhgwaan Kalki, but there are many differences in where Sambhal is. Some scholars place Sambhal in Orissa, Himalaya, Punjab, Bengal and Shankarpur. Some consider Sambhal to be in the Gobi Desert of China where humans cannot reach. Some believe in Vrindavan. Some consider Sambhal to be in Moradabad (U.P.) district where Kalki Avatar temple is located.
